Paleontology PNG Preview

A while ago, I scanned in an old Natural History Book from 1888. Today, I made some Gimp brushes from these. Just in case you might ever need an old Ichtyosaurus
Since I don“t know how to convert these into Photoshop brushes, I uploaded the .png files here:

This is a bit of a work in progress, or at least the start of an idea for an image which riffs on the cheesy fantasy artwork of the 70s. I want to do much more work on this and I need to use layers to complete my image, but having recently moved to a Mac I don’t have photoshop yet. I have been using the beta version of Lightroom 3, and I have to say I really like it. I am shooting everything in RAW now as the whole import to Lightroom library, develop files without actually making changes then exporting as jpegs really makes sense to me; it is going to make a big difference to my workflow once I really get my head round it.
I have also been shooting a fair bit with the manual focus 300mm Tamron lens I bought cheap on eBay; this was shot with it. It’s not super easy to focus accurately but I’m getting better. Great for candids, provided your subject is relatively still, but also for different views of stuff you’d normally shoot ‘normal’ or wide.
