Just discovered digital painting in Photoshop. But it’s a lot of work- especially getting the lighting right. Shadows are a problem… anyone know a good website talking about lighting and shadows?
Image by alephnaught Flickrmeet Northeast on Sun 22 Jan 2006, in which we met in a pub, then we crossed the High-Level Bridge and took part a Topsy Qur’et installation based around the idea of "Goatshead", then afterward, we went to the Baltic for a look at the Spencer Tunick exhibition, and then having a nice cup of tea at the cafe downstairs.
This picture was taken with a Nikon D50 DSLR, and processed in photoshop.

My first experiments in Tilt Shift Miniature Faking. The picture was not originally taken with this technique in mind, so the depth of field is not ideal. The result is not as miniaturesque or dramatic as a typical tilt-shift fake.
